Say That Prayer Now!!!

Academic stress,

work deadlines,

Employees not up to task,

health decline…..

With the ever-increasing pressures of the world, it’s important to keep your spiritual temperature high as a believer. Let’s not forget that the kids are back to school. John is complaining of dropping grades.  And Ken has a deep cut on his forehead.

Hoh!

These are common and familiar scenes we witness every day. Almost everyone in this world is facing one kind of pressure or the other- students, homemakers, corporate women, etc. It is tougher on believers as we try so hard to hold on to our values and to avoid ungodly compromises.

Sometimes we get so busy as women especially when we are active in our careers– banking, health services, security services, managers among others. Finding the perfect time for prayer

Finding Time for Prayer

Philippians 4:16, ESV- “Do not be anxious about anything but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to pray without ceasing. That reveals something impossible. Are you really telling me to pray all the time? Do you mean I should be praying around the clock? YES!!! Because even as you are reading this you can say a prayer.

We need to consciously make time to meet our maker and have a heart to heart chat with Him yet it sometimes appears nearly impossible.

But you can say that prayer now even as you gather files off your office table, as you prepare breakfast, as you sit behind the wheel and as you are reading this.

Waiting for an opportune time to meet with God will never come unless you create or make the time. Prayer and communing with God can take place anywhere and at any time; even right now.

A Place for Worship

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:1-45), she was speaking about a venue for worship but Jesus defined how true worship is handled and where it is done;

The woman said to him, ‘Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship’. Jesus said to her, ‘Woman believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father………”. God is spirit, and all those that worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:19-21, 24. ESV)

We can apply this to our prayer lives to ease the burden and to release the stress. Let the kitchen be your mountain of worship, the driver’s seat is an amazing place to whisper something to God.

The devil is very swift and will make use of every little space we leave unguarded. We need to rise up as women of prayer, saying prayers for our families, employees, pastors, mentees and for every other woman around the world because we all face similar challenges.

Say that prayer now! Wherever you are and whatever condition you are in is a favorable time for prayer because in everything with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving we ought to make our requests to the man up there.
