Faith Under Pressure

We all have pressures in life. As women, we have the pressures of work, families, households, friends, and dreams. Also, we have the pressures of balancing and trying to do it all at the same time. We go through trials in life that feel like breaking us. We have challenges and don’t understand why. Life can seem out of control. We get frustrated waiting for God to move yet God is waiting for us to move. We tend to focus on our pressures, which is what the devil wants. If we are focused on our pressures, we are distracted from our purpose. Our faith under pressure is a teaching point that we need to experience in life. Even though it’s hard we will be better women for it.

James 2:4 (MSG) – Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

Here are 3 things to know about faith under pressure:

  1. Pressures are a gift. It may not feel like a gift at the time, but it helps us grow our faith.
  2. Pressures show what you are made of. Your actions under pressure show what’s in your heart.
  3. Pressures build character. It is under pressure that we learn who we are and develops us into the women we are today.

Let’s Pray:

Father, we thank you for the gift of pressures because we know it’s going to develop us and teach us faith. Help us not be blinded by the pressures but to be focused on you. No matter what we go through we will be better women for our faith under pressure.

Amen!
