Mercies and More Renewed Every Morning

I love morning times, especially fall mornings when the weather is perfect and the fall leaves create a canvas of colors.  There is nothing like walking out first thing in the morning and taking in a deep breath to inhale in the freshness and newness that mornings represent.  Mornings also signify a new day…. a fresh start….and a clean slate.   God gives us a promise that His mercies are renewed every morning (Lamentations 3:23-23) but because He always gives in abundance, we can anticipate so much more than His mercies each morning when we awaken.

Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning, great is your faithfulness.

Love

God’s love truly is steadfast.  Each morning He presents a banner of His love over us.  That banner of love serves as a blanket to assure us of His presence.   There will never be a morning where God does not offer that banner over us.   There may be times of uncertainty when we question whether it is there, but that is when faith steps in.   God loves us and He will never leave us!

Solomon 2:4 ESV

He brought me to the banqueting house, and His banner over me is love.

Romans 8:38-29 ESV

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Joy

Each new day God gives us joy so that in the midst of our most difficult times, we can approach whatever may come our way with a countenance of joy and not despair.  While there may be a season of ‘weeping’, we can wake up each and every morning of that season with hope and tap daily into His joy that will give us the strength to sustain.

Psalms 30:5 ESV

Weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes with the morning.

Nehemiah 8:10 ESV

And the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Unwrapping the Gifts of the DayVictory

Every day may present with a fresh new set of battles, but God knows all things and can see much farther than we can.  Each morning as we seek Him, He is faithful to give us a strategic battle plan to help us navigate our day.  He may give instructions to pray, fast, trust, forgive, seek, etc., but He is for us and promises victory.

Romans 8:31 ESV

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

I Corinthians 15:57 ESV

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every night as we wrap up our day, we can go to bed in peace and anticipation of God’s mercies and more greeting us in the morning.  What do your mornings look like?  Are you tackling each day in your own strength or resting in the promises of God?
